Brandon Text is the companion of the famous Brandon Grotesque type family. It has a higher x-height than the Grotesque version and is optimized for long texts, small sizes and screens.

Some Backgrounds
Having finished the first drawings of Brandon Grotesque in 2008, I asked myself what I should do with it now. Should I publish it with the help of a type foundry or would I be better off by myself? I wasn’t sure, so I put it in the drawer. After nearly two years, I found it again. I started to rework some details, and after six more months of work, I decided to publish it by myself. Still I was not sure if anybody would be interested in just another geometric sans – but at least I loved it. So I decided to share it like this: I designed a limited edition type specimen of just fifty copies for my first fifty customers. I wasn’t even sure if I could sell fifty copies – but it turned out very differently.

The success of Brandon Grotesque was overwhelming. Within the first month it was climbing to the top of bestseller lists and was featured in the well-known MyFonts newsletter. In its first year it became the most successful new typeface of 2010 – and its success continued. Today I can say that Brandon Grotesque was a changing point in my life. Before, I had designed typefaces for nearly three years – and honestly, I was thinking about doing other things for a living, keeping type design as a hobby. Following the success of Brandon Grotesque, I now get to experience the great privilege to do “what I love”. I’m happy to see that a vision like mine can be realised.

Inspired by the café culture that forms such an integral part of everyday life in Europe, Dolce Caffè is a sweet & stylish handwritten font that is very legible, simple, and useful. It was designed in 2011 after the many cool handwritten chalkboards I saw on the streets of Berlin, a city that I love. All the glyphs were designed by hand first, and than vectorized with Illustrator CS5. Use this typeface when you need a neatly handwritten style for your projects. The letters are uppercase only.

Inspired by Henry W. Troy, BLAQ is a new version of Trojan Text not available as font. Is an ornamental blackletter alphabet. Works great in headlines and other ‘masculine’ like design settings. The Victorian Gothic or Neo-Gothic is an architectural movement that began in the 1740s in England. Its popularity grew rapidly in the early nineteenth century. The revived Gothic style was not limited to architecture.

“BENNUDISEÑO™ a typography designed for my web site and personal visual identity, a design based on geometric shapes, perfect circles that draw rings around specific types. A hallmark of the source is the angle of tilt and the separation between the body of certain types.

The typographical design is not my speciality, but as one of the areas within the graphical design it is not unknown to me. I am a fan and user of free applications as Blender 3D, joomla! and all kinds of typographies and free resources. When arose the need to design a typographical font for my 2010 web site, the first thing that I thought were the characteristics that would form my typography which are the following ones: to name it BENNUDISEÑO™, that is the name of my company as freelance designer; obviously I said to myself, the font has to be free to download; the design of the characters had to be very simple, of minimalist forms and since it would be use for the logo and visual identity of my company, only would be in capital letters.

The software to develop this font was Ilustrator CS4 and Font Creator 6.0, which I had to learn to use exclusively in order that the typography was True Type. The result was my free font BENNUDISEÑO™, ready to be used in design graphic projects, web, prints, T-shirts, posters and 3d motion graphics. This font, is dedicated to all the Russian and non-Russian Babushkas around the world. This font was created using a flat brush and Chinese ink. After that I scanned all the letters and numbers and created the real font. Designed by Giuseppe Salerno, in the 2011 You can even watch a video on youtube showing how Babushka was hand-drawn by the artist.

Jos Buivenga (exljbris Font Foundry) has designed the beautiful Delicious (free) font family. With Roman, Italic, BoldItalic, Bold, Heavy and SmallCaps styles he created a complete font family.
