The portfolio of Jordan Sparrow, a designer from Chicago, IL.

The idea of the site was to create a navigation that relied heavily on white space instead of graphic elements. The user can scroll, and realize the separation of sections by white space alone. The process started with the background video, which was drawn, cut, hung, and shot in a makeshift photography studio set up in my kitchen. From there, icons and other assets were drawn up and developed digitally, then the layout began.

My portfolio was kind of a lifetime project as I had designed many layouts previously for my portfolio, but this made it online. About the structure, the idea was to forget typical 960px grids and make it fully responsive. From mobile phones to bigger monitors. The design is pretty simple. My focus is into simplicity, which I am trying to “sell”. The site has minimal HTML5 functions like on Works site.

This website is the personal résumé of Pedro Ribeiro, a portuguese graphic designer. My idea was to “sell” myself as a product, in fact, what we do when we show our résumé is trying to “sell” ourselves by showing our “characteristics”, the same way we do when we are selling any other product.

Wine Label Design is a website directed towards the wine business building their brand from the ground up. Thousands of wine labels from all over the world were designed by our team.

The website was redesigned this year with the intention of getting to a more broad audience and for that we also made the website’s structure responsive according to the growth of the visitors on our websites via mobile and tablet devices.

Demijohn is the Worlds first Liquid Deli. Founded in Edinburghs Grassmarket, it sells a unique collection of handmade British products from Whisky and Wine to Single Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar.

Demijohn came to us looking to step into the premier league of ecommerce and provide an internationalised site that reflected their service as it would be in the store – Personal, high quality and fun.

INDEZ, being a leader in ecommerce guided the client through our design and build process, creating custom mood boards to get a feel for what the right fit was for their new site.

Various mock-ups later we arrived at a digital illustration style inspired by the interior decor “french shabby chic”. This style uses clean white space with rustic hand crafted details which we thought would be a very good reflection of the in-store environment.

Early in the project we discovered the client shared our passion for custom design. This allowed us to create many beautiful bespoke details throughout the site. All the fruit and illustrations you see on demijohn were hand drawn with the airbrush in Photoshop, to a style that I created as a one off for this client only. This allows the product to stand out on the page with its beautiful colour from each bottle.

Our talented development team then began to make the design a reality and install the custom plugins unique to our service offering, which help our clients make the most out of the online ecommerce market.

An enjoyable project resulting in a great looking site that the full team are proud of.

I wanted my new site (the 1th one was an adaptive one pager) to be fully responsive, minimal and clean as possible. With some extra attention to typography and readability.

That’s why I chose Elena Regular for body text and Seravek Bold for headings. Both from Process Type Foundry. I didn’t want to use images at all but it looked quite boring! So I started experimenting with Pika Icons from Dutch Icon (Available via Symbolset). I think it’s a good match.
The language is in Dutch because my target audience is Dutch.

Michelberger’s Fountain of Youth is a coconut water drink brand created by The Michelberger Hotel from Berlin.
The brand is based around the character of a superhero Monkey (the animated story of which you can read on the first part of the website), and he is featured on the can, wrapped around it. When 3 cans are placed together, you see the whole image of the monkey which increases shelf presence of the drink. We used a can with a rippled design to echo the sea which is used as a story theme and design element in the website artwork. The website works as a playground to feel the freshness of the coconut water and the strength of the superhero Monkey. There are many hidden features and a different approach to the story on the mobile site. The main site simulates the drag and drop functionality of the touch device, allowing users to navigate the site on a desktop computer like they would on a tablet.
Main features include a fully customizable wordpress backend, the animated story, a drag and drop main site, use of the html5 sound api (soundmanager), a store locator using geolocation on mobile and google maps on the desktop version, mobile optimization, css media query optimization for big screens, etc.

The packaging and website illustration where designed by Azar Kazimir, Creative Director for the Michelberger Hotel. There is a design studio inside the hotel as part of the business. The studio does all the design work for the hotel and for its many other projects. Screendesign and web development where done by Lukas Sommer, the interactive web developer behind the various online projects from the Michelberger Hotel (among them: michelbergerhotel.com and michelbergerbooze.com). Both work together closely as a team.
