75 Tools For Creative Thinking
75 Tools For Creative Thinking is a card set that we developed at our agency over the last two years. It’s there to help and stimulate your creative thinking in various stages of the process. It’s been designed to be applicable to a wide range of professions. It’s a great tool to have around for a creative session with or without a client, the format makes it a very playful and friendly tool which we think stimulates the creative process even more.
The idea arrived from the need for a collection of similar tools here at the studio, with our experience in design process en research ( half of our team are product designers ) we decided to author this set. Since we started as a design agency it only felt natural to do the design ourselfs. The card set itself went through many, many changes over the past 16 months since we didn’t feel we got it just right ( also being a self initiated product, we had to fit it in between the client work ). All in all we’re really stoked about the end result.
The site:
Having said the above the website we created has one main target: promoting the card set. Having designed the set ourself we had a pretty good feeling for all the elements and how to use them. We are especially font of the color scheme since we managed to use that many colors without making it look completely childish which is a feat in itself. We decided since we opted to create a simple clear toolset we really should do the same for the website, if there ever was a project that would benefit form a one page layout this is it. We tried to make the UX of the website part of explaining what the product itself actually is, that’s why we take the use from one full screen area to another simply explaining the 5 categories found in the set. The design & development was a 2 man job and we managed to get it done relatively quickly the most time ( as always ) went into fine tuning the site to fit multiple devices ( we designed 5 different viewports phone portrait & landscape, tablet portrait & landscape, and desktop ). It’s a really basic site so I’m sorry for writing such a long story in short:
As a design agency we had the need for a toolset in the studio, we decided to create one. We designed a simple one page website to promote our set that we felt needed to have the same simplicity and boldness the actual card set has. We worked hard on it and we’re very, very proud!
