Interview with Nelson Medina
Tell me some words about your background.
I was always an enthusiast of the art, the communication, the music.
Professionally began when I entered to the Catholic University of my country and followed the career of Sciences and Arts of Communication. Finally I specialized in Publicity.
In my last years of study started to make projects of advertisement and corporative image for companies, specially the mining, aeronautics, the tourism. I don't know if I had luck, but they are many companies of several parts of the world that have trusted in my work. Although my profession it is the publicity, I have a personal passion by the design and music.
Years ago I undertook a long trip by roads passing by several countries of South America.
This trip was very inspiring for me, and since then I have narrow relations with people in different cities. what takes me to do something but great and I am called REVOLUTIONART.
In the real world I am a simple guy that it eats hamburgers in the corner. I love the Italian food and hard rock.
What is the idea behind the Revolutionart magazine and what is planned for the future?
REVOLUTIONART is the world-wide answer of several communicators and artists to the known "stablishment" in the art.
We want to go out outside the standards and at the same time to leave inspiring messages to the world.
If the publicity and the announcements serve to persuade to the minds and to guide masses; REVOLUTIONART serves to wake up to the people and leave the flock.
The same artists who make the announcements, videos and images that also inspire to the world are present in REVOLUTIONART to leave an own message beyond that any corporation says.
It's a project that serves as a public window to show messages in a revolutionary way.
Our main goal in the future is to make a change.
Which art & design sites do you visit regularly and why these?
I have an intensive collection of design bookmarks of the best of the world. But always I end at REVOLUTIONART because it also inspires me. The people's works are wonderful.
Publicistas.org is the main comunity of advertisement for Latinamercia and, also have some channels to the people to express their thoughts. I always like to see what the people have to say.
When I have some time to surf the internet I prefer to see what the people are doing in communities like youtube, myspace or deviantart.
How many hours per day do you spend on your computer?
Sometimes more than I need. Sometimes not enough.
I like my computer but also love to be free. Portable computers, blackberrys, wi-fi are part or a needed mobility life without cables!
I love when I can work in front of a nice landscape but this not happens often.
We are people! We need more time to make love.
Do you have any hobbies outside of graphics arts and computing?
Yes! Play guitar, singing, photography, and think a lot about philosophic themes.
Thanks Quandtnet!
