Tell us something about your background to introduce yourself.
My name is Bruno Sousa, 25, graduated in Product Design, however, currently working with graphic design by vocation, although I love both areas.
I have experienced over the past 5 years in various aspects of design. I got engaged to work with 3D modeling, still influenced by my graduate in product design. Then I became interested in game design, researching a lot about this area but never published any concrete project. Later I became interested in animation, taking courses and even working on some projects for local producers. Then I became interested in branding and visual identity. Later, my curiosity led me to work with interface design, in which I learned to create websites in xhtml + css. And finally, ending a cycle and back to the starting point where everything started, me striving to create a good illustration portfolio.
This period of experimentation was very rich in learning, and now I have many skills that can be utilized in many situations, however, now give priority to branding projects, illustrations and websites, working as a freelance designer.
Where from do you get your inspiration?
Most of the time on the internet, seeing portfolios of people and creative studios that I admire. But I also seek inspiration in the content of magazines, in the news, movies and more … it all depends of project type I’m working.
Do you use a sketchbook for your drafts?
No. I create my sketches directly in my computer, using a wacom tablet. But sometimes I prefer create my drafts in paper.
What is your favored machine (Mac/PC)?
I’ve worked with both, but today I think it doesn’t matter, what really matters is the idea. The tool to execute the idea that you can be the best fit, if it can reach the expected result.
What new projects are you currently working on?
Lately I am committed to creating a good illustration portfolio. I thought, after experiencing many areas of design, this is the area that I most like, that’s what I do best since I was a kid, and oddly enough I haven’t a illustration portfolio with many jobs. In parallel, I have been very interested to study Jquery to enhance my projects.
You would like to say anything more for us?
Just like to thank the opportunity to show my work and to invite everyone to follow my projects on my site whenever you can, and say I’m available for new jobs.
